"Here guv'nor," Wiggins said to me, "I've got a little riddle. What do you say we wager a farthing on your being able to solve it."
"Very well," I said. "I enjoy a challenge." But, of course, I had no intention of taking the little scamp's money.
"You won't regret it, sir. So, tell me, what occurs once in June, once in July, and twice in August?"
My first thought was the full moon, but I quickly discarded that as not being the case in this year. "Hmm," I said. I could see Holmes' eyes glittering with amusement, but he said nothing, and left the matter to me to resolve.
