The Crystal caves are found in the Forest mine area-

And is where you can find specific special Gems and crystals- some of which are used to make the elusive Crystal Paintbrush. However Only certain alignments can get these special crystals. So you'll have to trade with others for the rest for the recipe. You get 3 pickaxes a day.
